Public Lecture: Why ecovillage research should think and talk about capitalism?
Dr. Lara Monticelli

Although ecovillages are often perceived as examples of alternative grassroots initiatives to unsustainable systems, there is still a need to think and talk about the relationship between capitalist structures and ecovillages, and the impact this has on ecovillage research.

Ecovillage and Alternatives-to-Capitalism researcher Dr. Lara Monticelli will discuss this relationship in an online public lecture titled “Why ecovillage research should think and talk about capitalism?”.

The event is part of the seminar “Sustainability and Spirituality in Ecovillages”, taught this spring semester at the University of Basel.

The event is organized by theEcovillage as Incubators of Sustainability Transitions (EVIST) research project at the University of Basel. This research project studies how ecovillages around the world collaborate with local actors from their regions to promote sustainability transitions.

Date/Time: 1st of June, 18:30-20:15 CEST
Dr. Lara Monticelli (Assistant Professor and Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at Copenhagen Business School, Dept. of Business Humanities and Law).
